Solution:
You want to shut down your Scanner and unplug the cords from the back of it. Leave it resting for 10-15 minutes and let all the power drain. Once you feel the allotted time has passed, you can plug in your cords and turn the scanner back on.
This will not fix ALL your issues, but it's always the first thing to do before you rush into thinking about a new scanner or asking for service on it.
